Ganti Duta Palestin Di Malaysia...Hamas Bukan Fatah...

"This is the choice of the people. It should be respected."

a. The destruction of jewish state

b. To replace the corrupted and ineffective Fatah movement.

Fatah dan Mesir menjadi talibarut no. 1 Israel.

Q: For the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting in Kuala Lumpur recently, how come Malaysia allowed the Fatah and Hamas representatives to attend the Foreign Ministers meeting and acknowledged the Fatah representative as the head of the Palestinian delegation when it was Hamas that had won the elections?

A: We follow international practice. It is the Palestinian Authority that it is internationally recognised as representing Palestine. The foreign policy of Palestine is still determined by Mahmoud Abbas, the president (who is from Fatah), and he informed us that the person attending would be Farouk Kadoumi (from Fatah).

In order not to embarrass Hamas, which was already here, we made a compromise for both representatives to attend under the banner of the Palestinian Authority.

Q: What is Malaysia’s position on the elected government of Hamas? Does Malaysia recognise it as the legitimate government?

A: We recognise the government. But we also have to look at the constitution of Palestine. The appointment of the government, the prime minister and ministers lie with the president. Mahmoud Abbas is the elected president. So we must recognise the line of function.

Those are administrative matters that they must sort out. We do not want to get involved. You must distinguish between the head of state and head of government. In their case, they have a system where the head of state and head of government are both executives.

Under their constitution, the right of deciding on foreign policy and appointing ambassadors is with the president. Diplomatically, we asked them to attend together because they are both representing Palestine.

But the Hamas Foreign Minister (Mahmoud Zahar) said “them or nothing else”. He didn’t attend, he didn’t appear, and when he left, he didn’t tell us.

Q: Is Malaysia taking cues from the United States, which is uncomfortable with the Hamas?

A: No, no. You must respect the democratic result of the elections. Recently the Hamas prime minister and the president have come to an agreement to work together. But this is being hijacked by the Israeli invasion of Gaza.

Q: Why is there a lack of leadership in the OIC in terms of the present Middle East crisis?

A: Not a lack of leadership, but there is more difficulty now because of the exercise of the veto. US and Britain are not willing to get the UN Security Council involved. We have written to the five permanent members and the UN Secretary-General to bring the matter to the Security Council. We are even moving to get a special session of the general assembly on uniting for peace but it’s up to the secretary-general.

But if he feels that the matter is under siege by the Security Council, then it cannot be brought up by the UN. That is the hopeless state now, when there is no strong power we can call and move.

We have not shifted our foreign policy. I spoke to Indonesia and the Arab League. As far as they are concerned, the Quartet (compromising the United States, the European Union, the United Nations and Russia) has failed. And the peace process is dead. They want the matter to be brought back to the Security Council.

Israel must not be given a carte blanche to do what they like. You can talk about releasing the two Israeli soldiers, about terrorism, but you must also talk about civilian killings. Israel is like a superpower in that area against a people who do not even have a conventional army.
